Ananth Kalyanaraman

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Washington State University in Pullman. I am also a graduate faculty in the Molecular Plant Sciences Graduate Program and a participating faculty in the Center for Integrated Biotechnology at WSU. After receiving a B.E. degree (1998) in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (formerly a Regional Engineering College) in Nagpur, India, I joined the Computational Biology and Scientific Computing Laboratory in Iowa State University. There, I received both my M.S. (2002) and Ph.D. (2006) degrees under the direction of Prof. Srinivas Aluru. My research interests include computational biology & bioinformatics, parallel algorithms and applications, and string algorithms. My recent efforts have focused on developing high-performance computing solutions for compute- and data-intensive problems in computational genomics. I am member of ACM, IEEE, ISCB, LSS and SIAM.
