Call For Papers

We cordially invite you to attend the Workshop on “Computation for the Smart Electric Grid: Past, Present and Future (SGComp)” in conjunction with the International Green Computing Conference, which will be held in Dallas, TX, on November 3, 2014.

SGComp 2014 welcomes papers on computational requirements and emerging solutions for evolving smart electric grid. This workshop aims to provide a venue for discussion of a broader spectrum of approaches to solve problems related to efficient, robust and sustainable computing for electric power grid and associated components.

Specific topics of interest includes:
•    History of computation in the smart grid
•    Computational requirement for emerging smart grid applications
•    Computational models and algorithms for management and control of transmission system, distribution  system and end users
•    Recent trends and advancements in computation for the smart grid
•    Energy requirement for the computational intensive facilities, like data centers
•    Sustainable computing for the Smart electric grid
•    Efficient computational algorithms for the smart grid
•    High Performance Computing (HPC) for the smart grid
•    Big data applications in the smart grid
•    Cloud computing in the smart grid
•    Internet of things and the smart grid
•    Modeling and computation of incentive based demand response
•    Computationally efficient risk aware decision making
