Assefaw Gebremedhin, Research Areas

Located at the intersection of algorithms, data science, and computational science and engineering, my research interests interact with a variety of topics including: combinatorial scientific computing; network science; high-performance computing; pervasive computing; and bioinformatics. Many of these topics do overlap with one another. Exploring their interface -- with a focus on the synergetic application of novel combinatorial and numerical algorithms to develop scalable and robust methods for Big Data -- forms the core of my research goal.

I catalogue below my current and recent work under five topics. The link to each provides further information, including online abstracts and full versions (in pdf) of papers. Note: It has been a while since the contents linked through these topics has been updated. For up-to-date publication information, please visit the Publications page (via the menu at the left).

My research is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation and by the U.S. Department of Energy.
