I will be there for lab tomorrow, but there will be no lab next week. There will also be no class next week, since I'll be at the LISA conference.

Lab 6 is ready. I ended up going home sick today, but I'm planning on being there tomorrow. If plans change, I'll post a notice to this page by 3:00 pm. If you don't see anything by then, assume we'll have lab as scheduled.

It also lets you keep tabs on how you're doing. You do have the option to have your grades excluded from the page. If you want to be excluded, let me know.

Lab 2 is ready to go. The labs are a little ahead of the lecture, but you should be ok.
As announced in class today, we'll have the first quiz on Monday. It will cover the introduction, booting and shutting down, and rootly powers. You should be able to answer short-answer questions like "What is root's UID?" or "What are the two major branches of Unix?"
