Overview

The AOSD Workshop on Testing Aspect-Oriented Programs is the first workshop to focus on the issues associated with the topic of testing and quality of aspect-oriented programs (AOPs). Our intention is to bring together researchers and practitioners that have interests in this important area, with the goal being to establish a research agenda that focuses on the challenges and issues associated with testing AOPs.

The workshop will focus on exploring answers to key research questions, including:

Goals for the workshop

The goals for the workshop include (but not limitted to):

Workshop Format

The format of the workshop will include a plenary session that discusses the above questions and goals, followed by the formulation of focus groups to work on key problems.

Prior to the conclusion of the workshop, each group will make a presentation outlining their deliberations and findings to the entire workshop. Proceedings on the workshop will be published in electronic form and will include all accepted position papers and a final report compiled by the organizers of the workshop.

To foster early collaboration and to maximize the use of workshop time, a Wiki-based collaboration system will be set up prior to the workshop. The Wiki will host submitted position papers, the workshop topic outline, a discussion forum, the final workshop report, and other relevant materials. Workshop participants will be able to post content that would not fit within the page requirements of their position papers. The Wiki will be available both before and after the occurrence of the workshop from a link on this page.

Submission Information

Submissions should be no longer than six pages and be in the ACM SIG proceedings publication format nine point font or larger, and should be no longer than six pages, including all text, references, appendices, and figures.

Papers must be submitted in PDF, postscript, or Word format to wtaop@cs.colostate.edu by the deadline for paper submission. Submitted papers will be made available for download from the Wiki site prior to the workshop date.

The topics of position papers should be related to a subject consistent with the testing of aspect-oriented programs. Papers will be reviewed by a committee and selections will be based on content, quality, and relevance. The expectation is that papers accepted at the workshop will eventually lead to full-length papers at high-quality conferences or journals.

The final report of the workshop will be published in a future issue of Software Quality Journal. Also, authors of the best position papers and those leading to the most constructive discussions at the workshop will be invited to submit a suitably expanded form of the paper for a special issue or section on testing aspect-oriented programs in the Software Quality Journal. These papers will be peer reviewed.
